Real Steel sell a generic throttle cable kit with a bracket that bolts onto the carb to hold the throttle cable in place.

Ignore the micro switch and the other bracket for my kickdown cable.

You can see an ally bracket that bolts onto the corner lug of the carb which holds the cable. This also becomes your adjuster for cable length.

On the pedal end of the cable I normally cut off the lug and fit a solderless nipple to make sure I get length almost right before final adjustment at the carb end.

I fit my carbs with the primaries at the towards the front of the engine. This leaves the cable on the passenger side.

On the front of the carb you will see two small vac ports / pipes. Look carefully and you will see that one port is lower than the other.

The lower port gives max vac at idle with the throttle closed.
The higher port wont show any vac until the throttle is opened.
On the rear of the carb you will either see a hose connector or a blanked off 3/8" port. This is the line to feed vac to the brake servo.

Scroll through the pics on this page and you will get the idea of what it looks like. The RPI pic is quite clear.
