left over part! -where does it go?

Hi

I have removed the gear box from my Rover SD1 v8 which is in a TR7 over the winter in order to replace the crank seals and have now put the gear box back in place. But, as with many projects I have a part left over and cannot remember where goes on the engine or gearbox and it does look quite important. Any advice, pics or diagrams of where this part goes would be much appreciated.

I don't recognise that at all! (not much help that is!)

Looks like something that would hold a cable in place?

It's the clamp for the dipstick tube.
