Rover V8 3.5 main cap girdle?

Whats about these days for 3.5 RV8, main cap support?, I'me using a 3.9 cross bolted engine at the mo' & want to build this 3.5 & have it ready to go. Thanks

So using a 3.9 block/bore - you'll fit a short throw crank to bring it down to 3.5?
What's your goal with the engine?
You already have a cross bolted bottom end which is pretty strong.

I'm looking at building this 3.5 engine I have if/ when the 3.9 gives up, I know 2 people that have gone back to 3.5 blocks, having had trouble with thin wall larger blocks.....

I suppose it depends what problem(s) they are having. I would go for the later block with crossbolted main caps, but have it top-hat linered.
