Pinned Liners

Post by jimthesail »

Hi ! Have read about this cunning mod. using 1/4" setscrews but not any feed back as to whether it lasts ?
Wonder if an easy fix in a little used kit car ?

Can cause cracking in the block where the pinning is done. Why just reline with top hat liners.

At 77 with a gammy leg rather dismantle and repair than tear to pieces.
Sounds like the setscrews hold in liner but alloy casting weak ? Worth
a try in my book ! Plan 3b will be fit another engine.
Liners = expense.

Sorry for late reply ! Problem solved when checking plugs found one had been dropped and no gap ! Knocking was 'rough' running when hot and alternator knocking on rad. support ! Doh !
