Recently purchased a 4.0ltr RV8 unused engine. The camshaft in it is not standard for the engine as it has the dizzy drive nose and not machined for retaining plate. The cam is brand new but I cant identify what it is. I'd to find out to determine if I can use it or sell it - can't do either if I don't know what it is!
What I do know is:-
- Definitely not a Piper or Kent cam as they both have stampings on the rear of bearing journal
- It has numbers stamped along the shaft between the lobes and i think they are - 126 13388 97
- on the rear of the bearing journal is stamped just 'A' and 3 dots two are white and one pink
- It has a purple splash of paint on the stamping from the casting maker
