I run a 300 BHP 4.6 with another 100 BHP of NOS on top in my Cob replica.

Dunno how much it all cost to put together, I guess it was just under 3k. I also run a close ratio T5 box, that also cost about 3k by the time I had sorted out the bell housing and had a load of machining done

So why not buy an LS* chevy, they cost less (a whole long engine is about the same as getting a rover block top hat linered) produce about twice the power as standard, can be cheaply tuned, are smaller than the rover and as they have a modern combustion chamber and modern valve gear they can easily get through the emissions.
best regards
Mike
Where as these cheap LS engines mike, as i never seem to find any.

ChrisJC,
Love the way you have cut the block,
What I'm interested in is the oil pick-gallery,have you cut it anywhere ?
I read this from the BritishV8 forum

And was thinking of doing it,just wondered if you had any picks of the oil pick-up gallery ?
Thanks

The only parts I have are those in the photos. They show the oil gallery that feeds the tappets / crankshaft, but I presume you mean the gallery that runs from the oil pickup to the timing cover. If so, I am afraid not!

Chris.

A mate did that to his race engine. He went to a drill supplier and bought a rifle barrel drill in the size he wanted and ran it into the gallery. He said that quite a bit of material came out, too. He then tapped the holes in the rear of the block and fitted screw-in plugs with Loctite. I think he did the holes to the journals, too just for uniformity.
Cheers,
John
