Cheers Ian will give em a try,

just spoke to Ray at V8D,
and had a nice chat, for £1500,
they will tophat liner the block,
swap the pistons over to the other rods, and fully balance the bottom end  . (front pulley, flywheel, crank, pistons and rods clutch cover plate)
he said if i thought it revved well before it will defo rev better when i get it back

Thats a bit dearer than turners but its fully balanced too

need to convince the wife now though to let me have the loan

you could look into selling the wife and kids to fund a new engine...... :-)

joking aside, its bad news to see a band new motor ruined so soon. At least Ray will build you a good base to build upon.

yeah i told him about the 4 valve cut outs in the pistons, and he said seen loads like that dont worry,
asked what the engine was going to be used for, told him about the charger installation (be end next year now due to this, unless i win the lotto)
thats when he suggested that be best to balance the whole bottom end assembly,

or am i better off sticking with the 4.0 pistons in the 4.6 block?

What are your supercharger plans for the future Tony cause 11:1 cr and about 6psi boost will do 15.5 :1 corrected cr so if you want to boost you'r better of with the stock 9.35 cr pistons which will do 13.2:1 corrected cr and give you some play around if you want to increase boost after a year or so...

I'd say get two new liners & stick in the original 9.35 pistons & get ready to get boosted in the nearby future....
Probably cheaper to....

But thats my 50 cents........

the overlap on the cam helps mate,
and Mike and others on here have assured me the 4.0 pistons with 6-8psi will be fine,

The loan has been accepted,
need to run the block to an engineering company in readin on saturday as they want to quote for the work to,
failing a good quote, its on a pallet to V8D end next week,

Next question, any one know any good couriers?
and prices??
and what will a block, crank, 2x sets rod pistons, flywheel and pulley weight?
