RV8 Piper Vernier Cam Sprocket Torque Settings?

Post by 88 incher »

Hi there,

Just fitted my new Piper timing set, I didn't get any data sheets with it. Can anyone tell me the correct torque setting for the 4 cap heads that hold the two halves of the cam sprocket together?

I obviously could really do without them coming undone when the
engine's run up!

There's a link to a picture at the bottle of this message to help Identify it if needs be........

All the best,

James

Nope didnt work but with the absence of any manufacturers settings just make it the standard torque for whatever the bolt sizes are. I cant think of a reason why it should be any different from that.

Yup,

That's what I ended up doing today.

M6 Cap Heads (Black Phosphated)(10.9 Grade) = 14.7 Nm Dry by my reconing.

Thanks
James
