Post by Paddock RB44 V8 »

New to this type of thing and looking to rebuild an ex army vehicle which will not break and land speed records but wondered if any one knew of this engine and a good place to start for spares etc.

Hi,

it is a GM crate engine and probably has the biggest spares and tuning parts list available but mostly from the USA.
Goodwrench is a GM replacement universal 350ci engine which uses a brand new block and can be used as a replacement for most GM vehicles from 1970-85. It produces 260hp and 350 ft/lbs of torque with a 4bbl carb and headers. It can be used as a replacement or as a retrofit into almost any vehicle. This brand new crate engine comes with a GM warranty and is covered for 3 years or 50,000 miles in applicable GM vehicles only.
Cheers,

Ian

There's loads of crate motors around, direct from the US and some from here. Some crate motors are built to a budget in Mexico, perhaps something to be aware of. You can also get rebuilt & guaranteed SBCs here.

Spares are available here (e.g. Real Steel among others) no probs and there's a zillion more choices in the US. Loads of SBCs running in the UK, spares aren't a prob.
