How to remove a Serp Crank pulley
Hi i need to remove the crank pulley from my 4 litre serp engine as it got damaged. I can't get a socket on any of the bolts though as they are are to close to the center boss. Any trick to it?

I read it that removing the damper via crank nut was what the OP was looking to avoid - Just wants to remove the pulley from the damper.SimpleSimon wrote:No need for a thin walled socket thats the same pulley TVR use on the Serp motors (and that 400 is ex TVR anyways) 15/16 socket or 24mm job done, even a bulky impact socket goes in there

The six bolt pulleys are usually fitted to small bearing engines and have a separate damper and bolt on belt pulley. The large bearing 4.0/4.6 engines don't have the six bolts and have a one piece damper and pulley.
As already said , a thin wall socket is needed to undo the six bolts even if the whole thing is on the bench.
