PowerLite Hi-Torque starter.

Post by DaveEFI »

Anyone stripped down one of these? I have a spare where it doesn't seem to engage the drive every time - but the motor runs. So was thinking the one way clutch? Where would I get spares?

PowerLite will fix it - but want rather a lot to do so.

You could try the guy I use to refurbish my starter motors and alternators, the firm is called PDM Electrical and he is located in Grays in Essex the phone no is 01375 390800.
He has helped me several times and if you can get a part number he might be able to get the part for you. If I remember correctly the core of these units is a Nippon Denso unit ( the same as a wasp starter ) so the part hopefully will not be to hard to identify.
