SD1 Vitesse Flapper conversion to hot wire

Post by swight »

How easy is it to fit a 3.9 Hot wire engine into a SD1 Vitesse with the flapper system. What do I need to do to change the wiring system, i.e. do I need the loom from the Range Rover with the ecu. Thanks, Steve

Change complete system over - inlet manifold, pipework, airmeter, harness etc and fit a landrover discovery 3.5efi hotwire ecu as the 3.9 ecu will overfuel.

3.5 hotwire?
when did that come out?????
and why will the 3.9 ecu over fuel???
i ran a complete 3.9 system and ecu on a 3.5 and it never overfuelled one bit.

what i did was find the 5 pin plug on the sd1 efi loom, cut the plug off the flapper efi side, and wired the hot wire loo to the plug and connected it back to the car plug.
there are two wiring diagrams on th forum so you can cross reference what colour does what on the 3.5 and 3.9 looms,
