lucas air flow meter cable

Post by smokeyone »

I have a range rover 3.9efi with a lucas air flow meter. After fiddling with a new air filter set up the cable to the meter is a bit short. Does anyone know where to get an extension cable (if such a thing exists) or is this a case of soldering in some new wires to make it a bit longer.

Thanks very much

I had similar problem. All I did was unwrap the loom and cut the cables, then extend by soldering in an extension and cover joins with shrink wrap. The re wrap with loom tape. Total cost about £5 and 1 hours worth of time.

Seems to be the answer then! I did not know if someone had a clever idea such as finding a scrap different model car that has a longer cable and swapping them around.
Looks like a christmas soldering project!

Cheers
