Seeing as my gearbox/engine aren't in just yet, it's probably prudent to fit new pressure plates as the current ones are quite worn.
I have an AP Racing twin plate clutch, with two Helix 7 1/4" pressure plates for an LT77. (think they might be 6-paddle? There are 6 seperate sections on each plate).
I'm not to bothered about them being full on race jobbies, just something to do the job (i.e. not stupidly expensive!), as previously I was running a single plate AP clutch with no probs and the power hasn't gone up that much. Not even bothered about them having paddles etc.
Can someone recommend a good place?

How much power are you putting out to require ou to need a paddle, I use Helix GrpN and this sems to handle my output without much of a problem, they will make organo/ceramic plates to suit if you go beyond the 300 ftlbs

I'm not too up on clutch info really. My original clutch was an AP with single plate, which was a 'complete' circle.
The new one is also AP, but has two, and rather than being a complete circle, it has 6 near-separate sections, which I assume means it is 6-paddle? Is that right?
Original output was about 260bhp IIRC. Probably looking at closer to 300bhp now and similar if not a little more torque. The old clutch was ridiculously light though.
I've read a bit on the 'net and 6-paddle seems to be a good race/street compromise? However, in practice with a car weighing circa 900kgs what would be a good choice?
I suppose I could just get two normal 7 1/4" clutch plates?

Yup, they passed me onto their UK distributor who has a wealth of knowledge.
Turns out my original clutch was an AP Racing GrpN.
The twin plate one I have now uses Sintered Plates and not the paddle types as I thought.
Replacement plates are about £52 + VAT each
