The gearlever on an LT77 2wd box....

Do you have to lever the springy things over the top of the pegs either side of the gear lever and then screw the bolt down?
or do the pegs sit on top?

yep, they provide 3rd-4th lever bias, and sit on the pins either side of the ball on the gearlever. and on top of the adjusting bolts

There are several versions of the gearshift remote setup and I hope you have a short version - any one levering the spring on the long variant will probably never get the shift to settle in the 3/4 gate properly again.

its the remote straight out of an SD1 if thats any use?
