sd1\lt77 racing clutches

Post by karrionchris »

Just come back from the pod and after having some good runs my clutch decided to start giving up and slipping on burnouts and launches.

Im about the chuck in an LSD so i think i might need a stronger clutch. anyone have any ideas of a stronger clutch that will still fit in an LT77/sd1 bell housing. don't mind spending a bit of cash but i dont want to spend everything.

The Mcleod 10.5 unit from Real Steel is good but you have to either have your flywheel drilled for it or buy their steel flywheel. The Rover pressure plate version is a 2400lb assembly but the Chevy version is 2700 with the same bolt pattern.

Real Steel sell the Mcleod to fit the Rover bellhousing. The release system has to be in good condition as the clutch needs a bit more movement to release than the standard clutch.
