Surely adding resistance will make the engine run even richer and hence the hunting worse 8) I would never consider an over lean condition (splashy) hunting so am slightly confused here :? generally resistance decays with increasing coolant temp with a CTS

I have found on the serp pump rotors Tony that the wear is usually visual also i.e scored rotor tips and sometimes misshapen 8)

When it dies and fails to start have you checked it still has spark? my suspicions are with that Intermotor ign module I dont like them 8) only one worth using is a pukka Lucas module and I dont mean the current Lucas generic crap 8-)

No need for a thin walled socket thats the same pulley TVR use on the Serp motors (and that 400 is ex TVR anyways) 15/16 socket or 24mm job done, even a bulky impact socket goes in there 8-) I read it that removing the damper via crank nut was what the OP was looking to avoid - Just wants to remove...

Yes it's where TVR put a sender for the electric oil pressure gauge. The idea was odd as the gauge indicates higher as the oil filter clogs up so when you do an oil change the gauge shows a lower reading and is a red herring worry.
