Didnt think of doing that. That is easy enough to try.
Thanks.

Re: Cosworth T5 to RV8 4.6 and Dowell pins
I have a lathe, but no idea how I would turn them down to make an offset dowell.
Lakewood can supply 0.007" pins but they are in the States, I was hoping there would be a uk source.

Cosworth T5 to RV8 4.6 and Dowell pins
Evening.
I have mated my T5wc to the RV8 4.6. Dialed in the bell housing and got 20 thou out at 12pm/ 6pm.
Does anyone know where to get offset dowell pins for the RV8. I think I am looking for 10 thou? But will need to YouTube to confirm.
Thanks Mark

Re: How to make clutch easier.
Wanted to remove the servo if possible. Although working fine, it looks horrible.
Thanks for the advice, with a 0.75 master and 0.875 slave, it seems I have the right combo.
Best to leave as it is and stop fiddling.
Thanks Mark.

How to make clutch easier.
I have a very hard clutch which I put a 1.9:1 ratio servo. Clutch is now lovely. The master cylinder is 0.75 and the Girling slave is a Q143 74660035 which I think is a 0.875 bore. What I cannot understand how to make the pedal easier do I reduce the slave to 0.75? I can't get my head around hydraul...

Re: Judder in reverse.
Only slipped in 4th when I accelarated very hard, I could hear the revs rising. In 1st, 2nd and 3rd it was fine. Now it’s fine apart from a slight judder. The clutch and pressure plate are from different sources. The friction plate is about 7.5mm thick, same as the one that came out. The input shaft...

Re: Judder in reverse.
It's only when I start off. Once engaged all good. Clutch slipped a little at the beginning when in 4th gear, now I have 150 miles it has firmed up and doesn't slip. Also have a judder when pulling away in 1st, not all the time, but probably 50%. I wonder if needs more bedding in? Plus side, the box...

Judder in reverse.
Just rebuilt the T5. All good in all forward gears. New clutch and plate. Lightened flywheel. New TR8 rear rubber mount,. New sort prop.
When I drive in reverse I get a judder, I appreciate not very discriptive, but has anyone had this before?
Thanks Mark.

Re: T5 suppliers
Interested to know how to dial gauge the bell housing?
My 10 spline input shaft has a 15mm snout and fits the spigot bush perfectly. I actually used the shaft to centre the friction plate in the pressure plate. All measures up and the snout locates 20mm into the bush.

Re: Who in the UK can supply T5 parts.
Got my parts from the States. £166 tax and duty on a sale price of $1000. Should have a box of parts left. The old synchro looked fine, but changed them as in the kit. Got loads of shims and clips left, plus the 23 spline input and counter gear. So if anyone needs a hard to get spare and doesn't wan...

Re: Who in the UK can supply T5 parts.
Got all the bits from Bob at Hanlon.
Great support and advice.
$1000 later and hopefully the box should be as good as new.
Shame I couldn't get any sense out the UK suppliers.
Never mind thanks to you guys all done and dusted.

Re: T5 Cossie box in my Dax.
He is supplying the countershaft as well, so I guess he will make sure of that?
But I will email him just to be sure. Thanks for the advice. Off into the garage to check.
Thanks Mark

Re: T5 Cossie box in my Dax.
Thanks for this. I have got all the bits from Hanlon. I have gone the 10 spline route and Bob is turning down the nose to15mm to fit the existing spigot bearing. He is also supplying the clutch friction plate to match. The input shaft was 9 1/4 inch long which fitted perfectly with the damaged 23 sp...

Thanks Scott.
I purchased a new pressure plate with flat fingers.
All fits now, but can't try it yet as the T5 box is in many different bags and labels!!
