I will just leave it a s TD5 Yuk want power. Just be aware that the TD5 responds really well to having the ECU chipped/remapped - which when combined with a larger intercooler and exhaust brings it up to similar power levels as the V8 and a lot more torque. So in day to day driving will have lots o...

You seem to want black and white answers - unfortunately when modifiying vehicles everything is grey.

Maybe you would just be better getting a V8 90 and going from there and selling off whatever you have now.

So if I understand this correctly the only difference is the bell housing because the TD5 is Different,(shoter) so I would need to get engine mounts moved (welded) or get a nice NEW chassis. MMmmm I wonder which it will be??? Well clearly there will be a number of other minor modifcations but the V...

I understood the 90 also came with the V8 which ran the same running gear and gearbox etc as the TD5 - as mentioned the TD5 just has a different (shorter bell housing) so the input shaft is different.

So same brakes, axles, diffs, tfr case etc etc etc

If you already have a complete 90 TD5 - why not leave everything as is and just take out the TD5 and replace it with the V8 - leave everything else in the 90 as is.

No mucking around and the end result will be better than the mods you are thinking about.

For your information - I managed to fire up the new engine on the old carbs and just EDIS 8. Fired first go on starting fluid and once the petrol came through the carbs did run a bit. No coolant in there at the moment or carb throttle cable or choke cable so not continued running but she fired up. T...

I gave the details of the bag to look for in the kit earlier. It is a small round black device about the size of a 50p piece which fits to the underside of the PCB, secured by two nylon nuts and bolts. It could be yours is missing - but that would be very unusual. Finally found it - a little bag in...

Dave I know you are totally correct but having trouble finding reference to where the "pipe" is on the board. I can see pics of the completed MS3X in its case and can see the manifold pressure hole in the case and the bit of pipe but when I look at pics of the 3 boards I do not see the connector on ...

The board itself does not have the sensor - it has input from a sensor.

Thanks but the MS3 ECU cannot directly read manifold pressure. It needs a sensor and the injection sensor is different (its measure airflow vs throttle position). So what do I need to connect between the manifold sucker and the ECU so the ECU can read the vacuum when using carbs.

Cheers

Thanks for all the suggestions - as I said just looking at options but it does not seem anything is readily available as a cheap price. My MS3 is about half built so I guess I can pull the finger out and get it built. I have the appropriate airflow meter and sensors etc to provide engine load input ...

Thanks for the comments - I will have a look at the Spitronic and see if they can be sourced locally.

Thanks Dave - yes know all that but MS3 and injection is still a way off. So looking for a ignition only ECU that will either work with EDis or without. EDIS will get my engine running on the fitted carbs but for various reasons I need to make the vehicle move and I don't think that having ignition ...

Cheap Aftermarket Ignition ECUs

Just looking for alternatives to fire up RV8 ignition - no dizzy. Will ultimately have MS3 but in the interim I am looking at what cheap aftermarket (off the shelf) ignition ECUs that may be available - I am aware of MegaJolt bit wanting to know what else is available for a cheaper price. Thanks Garry

4.6 will be cast into the front crankshaft counterweight.
