Hi From your other post and this one can I suggest looking at 101fc bell housing and front ancillaries, I think this had about the shortest set up for a factory rover V8. One of the issues with the rover is that for a low capacity low power small block V8 is that it is relatively big, especially it ...

why?
it would be stronger, cheaper to make and produce much less friction as a v twin, it is an engine from the Dyson marketing department.

Hi the carlton floor-pan and engine bay has had a V8 in it from the factory so you have an advantage, in that you know it will fit (Australian/SA cars). However with any conversion you will have issues, you highlight the steering box issue, relocating a steering box is generally simpler than a rack ...

:whs with regard the pistons, and glaze bust the bores at the minimum a proper hone if you can get it done for a reasonable price, the shells look good but the low oil pressure would make me think a regrind and set of shells would be well worth the money. New cam would be essential. pull the gallery...

I would think by posting a picture of a nice fresh doughnut would be about the most appropriate. . .

Hi I think your choices here are not ones of cost or reliability, you have said the cost is the same and both are reliable. Also well tuned and maintained SUs can be (nearly) as economical as injection, I think your choices are of simplicity of fixing it if something does go wrong and how you want t...

Hi you may well find with the 4.6 the extra torque lets you make more use of the overdrive you probably will not be free of changing gears because of the narrower power band of the larger engine but it should be better. I didn't realise you could have a winch and an overdrive! The MSD units are just...

:whs 2" sus and a tidied up and port matched (not gasket matched) SD1 manifold would be a very good match for a the 4.6 in a vehicle like the 101. do you have the auxilery drive winch fitted to the 101? If you don't have one you might consider finding one of the GKN/Fairy overdrive units for the LT9...

Hi looking from the outside here, I have no intention of ever running another rover engine, I would strongly suggest you all decide some fundamental rules as to what is a rover engine and what is not and what is a road legal car and what is not before you having race meetings. From my understanding ...

Hi Tony I am afraid the reality of life is that "power costs money how big is your wallet" what your current blower set up says is "I want 620 to 680 bhp, your base engine, displacement, state of tune and cam spec says base engine of about 320 bhp and you have shoved a bar of boost on top, therefor ...

Hi Ratio (FCR) = [ (Boost÷14.7) + 1 ] x CR is wrong it should be FCR = ((boost/14.7)+1)+CR the chart is silly it effectively says you cant run a bar of boost with a CR above 6.5:1, this is plainly not the case (ask any Scooby owner!) you can run a bar of boost with 9:1 CR easily and many engines run...
