Re: V8 rocker shaft bronze bushes

This is good work freddynav and is in line with my thoughts on retaining oil pressure to the rockers . A plain bearing needs a bit of pressure to operate , more than it needs high flow. The thing is most of us probly dont have either the nouse or the access to the nessesary machinery , and paying to...

Re: 48 IDF

Yeah , I like power bulges . Location is a shame , I could have offered you a edelbrock performer manifold and holley 390 vac sec , I have had them on an engine for years and it has never been run so as brand new

Re: V8 rocker shaft bronze bushes

I have new shafts and FM steel rockers that are pretty wobbly . The shafts must be ok as they are a firm fit in the rocker posts . I havnt used them yet , thinkin I might just get some roller rocker /shaft/post assy , not that the engine really needs them , bucket list thing, and they cant hurt. I h...

Re: 3.9 serpentine swap

I remember reading somewhere a peep had overheating issues on a serp motor. The guy had done mods as you want to and indeed got the whole thing running .....completely overlooking that the water pump was now running backwards .....so , no , you cant run the pump backwards :D

Re: Very little oil at rockers...!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zg62q23y3ogqkun/rocker%20arm.jpg?dl=0 I'm not sure that is the cause of the problem but what do you think I should do about this? I didn't replace the rocker assembly's during the build. 1. Just ignore it - do nothing 2. Replace a single rocker arm 3. Replace the entire si...

Cliff was exactly right the notches appear at the front and back and are therefore in the correct places. The problem turned out to be a sticking relief valve that someone did mention - thank you!

Re: 3.9l exhaust manifolds

Thanks garrycol and DaveEFI , I guess the thing to do is match the port to manifold as best as one can and go for a bigger bore system after that. IMG_20200124_124258.jpg Makes me think tho ,not so good pic of the exhausts (engine is a 3.5 I have parked in favour of the 3.9 serp motor ) but I had de...

3.9l exhaust manifolds

Getting to the exhaust stage of the engine build. I have (came with the engine ) a pair of cast dual outlet manifolds ,how good are these .....just that building a set of headers is a bit of a wriggle . I have big valve heads, ported stage 3ish and will have a fast road cam kent m228 . Are the cast ...
