Re: cold exhaust manifold
Get a can of EZ start and spray around the inlet and see if revs rise as some point.
My guess is that there is a leak,on the inlet side, drawing in external air as,opposed to through the carb

Re: Photo from Duns
I realised I was not driving it enough so put the word out that it was for sale.
This week someone made an offer I could not refuse and the car is off to pastures new.
Had it on the road for 15 years and it was great fun and through it met a number of wonderful people.

Re: Remote oil filter housing with oil pressure sensor leaking
Not sure about the ptfe
It can cause a very good insulator so the sensor does not get a proper grounding.
It may work but not always ….. depends how much tape you use

Some GT40 blokes found the Renault Clio ones worked well
As you say 2 grommets and a connecting hose.
Not sure on gromet size etc but I am sure a breakers yard would have some for not much money

E10 and Rover V8
With the advent of the Government changing the fuel to now have 10% Ethanol, how compatible are our engines, Hotwire systems etc?.
Not quite time yet to convert the GT40 to run off batteries, but I am now adding Ethomix to the fuel.
What else is needed?

They do the matching senders so the readings appear accurate.

Re: Oil cooler recommendations
Make sure you read the instructions, some are ok at 14v (alternator charging) and others need a voltage regulator to 10v
Get it wrong and your readings will also be wrong.
