Phil, Sorry for the confusion - if you are talking about Q22 and Q23, they were fitted after I took that picture (I thought I was finished at that point, and only noticed I hadn't fitted them when I was tidying up my work space. The same applies for R40, I had put it aside with R39, fitted R39 later...

Thanks Dave - I will check the Stim and go from there, I don't have the money to go swapping bits at random! Your offer to check it out for me is very much appreciated, a true gent! I won't take you up just yet if that's ok, I will keep chipping away a while longer, its the best way to learn how thi...

I have come to the same conclusion and yesterday removed the MS and reinstated the MJ in control of the ignition. This is how it will stay until I get something to happen on the bench! Spent some more time last night trying to slowly and systematically adjust the pots in the hopes of getting somethi...

You would have thought so wouldn't you? :( I know for a fact that EDIS is working because the car starts and runs, works fine and advances etc when checked with a light with Megajolt. It has been using MJ for a few months now, no issues at all. On the MS DB37 I have the PIP coming in on pin 24, and ...

MS2 - No rpm (v3.0 board, running EDIS) - Now working
I have posted this on the MSextra forums, but thought I might as well put it on here as we get a bit more traffic, and you lot are pretty erudite and might have some suggestions! For now as I need the car for work I have removed the MS and reconnected the MJ, which is running perfectly - i.e it has ...

I'd do as Dave says and get a timing light on it - a cheap one from ebay will do. Without checking with a light you could literally be getting any advance - just because the screen shows a certain value does not mean that is what the engine is getting. It is an important thing to check! Also doublec...

I think p38 ones have the exit pointing back, rather than down. Not sure if that would work given the limited space in the p6 engine bay! My 3500s had a stainless exhaust fitted when I bought it, came from a place in Devon somewhere. GS exhausts I think? Another p6 owner recently asked me where mine...

If it doesn't run without the filters then you can still whip the tops off and try the following to get you close (copy and pasted from my post on classicroverforum.net): Here us what I do, and it seems to work for me. To set my carbs I do lots of measuring! Please check the books for how many turns...

Just to follow up on this one: I built a map using the rover figures for my dizzy (35D8 stamped 41573) - figures taken from rover classics below: Models with Lucas No. 41573 stamped on distributor body Ignition timing Crankshaft Angle (6 degrees BTDC) Engine rev/min 26-30 degrees 4200 23-27 degrees ...

Ported manifold pressure vs Absolute - how do they compare?
Hi guys, I have Megajolted my P6 which is my daily drive - see here: http://www.classicroverforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=16625&start=105 I am running on an old map I used in the Landrover before, but it never really was 100% optimised. I am trying to build a map based on the Rover figures, however...

My Megasquirted 3.5 gets a vacuum of 30-32kPa at in idle of 850rpm. This is an absolute reading, and not a gauge one as engine off is 100kPa, and WOT is the same. Engine is standard 9.35:1 compression, with 10 bolt heads, standard Rangey 3.5 Efi cam, hotwire inlet manifold, and flapper plenum. No id...

I'm not a fan- they are too quiet! You can barely hear the engine noise on the trackside shots above the commentators voices... I loved the bit where it switched to an onboard shot with one of the Mercedes and Coulthard said something like "Sounds like a Massey Ferguson..." Its not proper racing eit...
