Definitely turbo, and the TVR exhausts up front just beg for a turbo or two The decision has been made. Will be a single turbo that might get me to 2nd place in RWD at TOTB next year ;) The rwd class is usually very tight although myself and Duncan have a habit of meeting each other in the finals. ...

New build decision to make

So I am getting the engine rebuilt at ACR and Roland will be fitting his Wildcat heads to the offset ground 5.0 bottom end with chevy rods and forged pistons. If I stay NA then the done thing is to fit throttle bodies that will cost me north of 2k even with discount. I do like the idea of having 400...

Fuel surge tank

I am considering upgrading my fuel system. The TVR has a very basic built in baffled part at the tank bottom. I have a Bosch 044 with the adapters for standard 8mm fuel lines to the fuel rail. Any recommendations on a surge tank set up? I am currently looking at a surge tank with inbuilt walbro pump...

99% ready for the rollers this friday.
Just need to sort a few breather hoses out and refit the bonnet.
Oh and maybe a new badge for the plenum ;)

MT streets are expensive. We had this debate in the NSCC. It was agreed that if you had tyres that were street legal and used for the cruises etc then you were allowed to run slicks on track. Andy Hadfield proved he could run very near to his best times on MT streets anyway. He saved a lot of money ...

As in with a current MoT, insurance and taxed. Only street legal tyres.

Sounds good to me.

Bring it on! I really do hope we can get something up and running. If we can get enough interest then maybe a get together at the pod or Shakey on a RWYB day and have a shootout, BBQ and a good chat on the way forward while drinking beer. Thats when the best ideas come ;) I would have liked to say Y...

Seems to me you have a lot of support Tony. I see what others say on FB and its all just personal opinion, the odd keyboard warrior and people just being curious i think. To be taken with a pinch of salt. Being a true northener i get abuse in varying degrees from most people. The heaviest of which c...

Aah yes sorry.
A rebore to 96mm on your tophats is only £300 tops IIRC.
The 96mm pistons take it to 4.8 ltr.
If you want the forged rods, with floating pins and spring locks (much better IMHO) then you need to have the offset crank also and that takes it to 5.0

Speak to Roland at ACR near Chester.
I went for the 5.0 option that uses a stroked crank, chevy rods and forged 96mm pistons.

He also supplies 94mm forged pistons that fit standard rods.

Those TVR's just look like they were designed to have a turbo up front lol There are plenty that have done just that. I have 2 mates that have around 450 bhp and well over 500lb/ft with a simple single turbo set up. Not my bag though (maybe one day). I like good NA and nitrous when its required. GO...
