Hello Iain, The sprocket is the same for both engines, but you will need the X5 chain it's slightly shorter.... Also you will need to change the pipe 17 on the 540i to pipe 14 from the X5...The bigger pipe is the same.. The little one is the oil feed to the timing chain, and as the pictures show has...

The bemmer is ok, got a gearbox issue at the mo, hope to get that sorted fairly soon... Going to stick some 50mm M5 throttle bodies on it over the winter... Should be a bit louder.. :twisted: :twisted: Your's is going to be an awesome thing when it's finished, is going on the road or track or both.....

Hello, Been a while, I've been a bit busy helping my mate, the 2005 Mustang drag car I helped my mate build ran a 9.04 @ 149mph last Sunday at Santa Pod, so very pleased with that... Back to the Beemer, I'm running her at fighting torque on Sunday 9th Sept at Woodbridge airfield, I will let you know...

Hi all, Quick update, ran the Beemer at santa pod on sunday, a first for me and the car.... pleased with the times, didn't change tyre's or pressures in them, ran it exactly as I would drive her on the street and managed a 13.44 @ 105.... M42 has the wrong cylinder pairing, so I just made my own, had a look at mine today, considering twin turbo's....

Hi, Your oil pump looks interesting, are you going to test the engine before you fit it to see if it makes oil pressure..?? My diff ratio is 2.65:1, which match to my gearbox (1:1 fifth gear) means it should do about 170mph at around 6200rpm and it doesn't take to long to get to 150 so I quite sure ...

Feeds the timing chain, and at different pressure to the main oil system...

Sorry for the delay, but not a no, I have spoke to my mate, as he will have to make the spacer blocks to go into the pump and he also makes a new oil pump shaft, he will let me know what sort of cost that will be involved and I will let you know...

All the Holden and UK Holden based cars use rack and pinion, they are also about 3" wider bodied, I have a Monaro coming next week for some suspension bushes.....

Yes mate, go for it. There not easy to find and you know as soon as you buy the front housing from BMW one will come up cheap on ebay...

E34 V8 5speed is the same as a e36 M3 3.0ltr except for the front housing which includes the bell housing, I cross referenced all the part numbers, every thing except that casing are the same and I think it's only about £150ish to by, I was about go this route when I found the one.... and 400 mile r...

BMW E34 530I V8 or E39 535i V8, all 6 speeders need different linkage and prop...
