Surprisingly the SBC engine is only about 30kgs heavier than the rover, this assumes that it has aluminium heads and water pump which mine does.

Towing a P38 is basically a pain in the derrier :)

Coops I have the mother of all set ups, a P38 Range Rover with all of its suspension and electrical issues couple that to a Small Block Chevy engine running a Megasquirt ECU whilst maintaining the non standard ECU to keep the rest of the car happy is a nightmare. Add that to having to replace the be...

Isn't that air temp correction used on boosted engines as the air temp will have a huge effect on the actual volume of usable air going into the engine therefore if its at a high temp then the fuel needs to be reduced as well to stop it running rich? Not something that would really need to be used o...

If the timing chain is that bad chances are the rest of the engine is really tired as well so it would make sense to rebuild it or at least do some more investigation.

Where are you as there may be some members on here that are local and can help :)

Strange Starting Issues

Ok I am running an MS2 on a stroked 383 Small Block Chevy, since putting it back together I get some strange starting issues. When left for a while and the battery is a bit low it just wont start, starter turns the engine OK ( about 150 RPM) but I am seeing lots of sync losses (1 per revolution) and...

Well I stuck with Classicline after all that, there quote was a whapping £250 cheaper than my renewal so I am well happy :)

All of the other insurers recommended were between £150 and £300 pounds more than my new Classicline policy.

SBC Engine Rebuild

Ok after the refitting the inlet manifold on my SBC it appears I also have a head gasket leak so I think to avoid any issues down the road again I will look at re building the engine. Now I could do it myself but I have a less that ideal clean area for a rebuild so am looking to get some advice on p...

Much better to get the box you need reconditioned properly, trying to mix and match bits from multiple boxes nearly always ens up with a very noisy and unreliable unit.

Tried Flux and A plan both were in excess of £400.00 and there was no guaranteed valuation.

I suppose many companies dont like the idea of a 400hp 2.5T brick :)
