another update.

I chatted to David Knight (who has just refurbed my cylinder heads) and he will now be receiving the pistons to cut the reliefs. He offered a special price that i had to accept.

Update.
A decision has been made.
The pistons will be pulled and sent to Chesmans on Friday. They have promised to return them with reliefs and matched weight within a week.

I tried it again with 2 gaskets in place

Measures about 1mm on the inlet and 3mm exhaust.
Does this suggest my cam timing is out?

Inlet none, exhaust barely.
This was on an old composite gasket

Do i install rocker pedestal shims in order to achieve zero pre-load from the lifter while off cam? As i do not have any solid lifters to hand i have made up a pair of weak valve springs from wire.
