That's a splendid idea. Re' inlet manifolds, I must be getting senile in old age as do have 2no ERC9119 units, both in standard form if of use. They're both in excellent condition, no chips and ready for machining to larger trumpet size. Am at home this weekend if your you fancy tea and biccies.

Most importantly, hope you're fully recovered from what sounds like a nasty accident. Re' bodywork, yes the primer will need to be removed and the surface rust buzzed back, neutralized and then re-primed. Most, not all, primers are porous and absorb moisture. The difficulty is knowing how far to buz...

Would you not bother using red Hermetite then, just the RTV and a cork gasket? This is a personal choice and others have theirs. On sumps, I don't like too many sealants as over time it does become inflexible and engine oil eats into the sealant from the inside turning the sealant into a gungy mess...

No. In your pic you have two thread holes, one above and one below the right/forward welch plug. These are the two thread holes to use for the alloy mounting plate.

Aspira, just a couple of helping notes if I may 1. when you install the new sump gasket check the check the sump holes super flat against a flat surface. this stops any potential oil leaks. 2. use a light smear of RTV sealant on both gasket faces allowing for the sealant to cure a little, then insta...

Aspira, my description above needs re-wording. The holes that mount to the block are the top and bottom holes. The rubber mounts fit to the two inline holes, with the rubber mount thread into the elongated chassis hole. From your mounting photo it's the circular boss that sits lowermost with the bos...

They mount to the two lower thread holes and the one upper, look at the form of the mount to the form position of the block. The larger single mounting hole in the centre is where the rubber mount thread passes through. When fitting your engine, pre-fit the mounts to engine, lower engine, install ru...

Yes, Clive's engine mounts are the ones to go for.

Note...you'll struggle to get that oil filter in to the B'. Are you planning on a remote filter housing as per conversion norm'?

Thank you Devonman, that's just the answer. Had been trying to find the data on this and couldn't find it anywhere. Have the 14CUX diagrams and operational manual but the only data was the engine speed sensor with 6.8k resistor test. Rgds, Andrew

Smiths Flight Electronic Tachometer

Gents, looking for a sanity check here. Installing Smith Flight/Prism Electronic Speedo and Tacho' in the BV8 conversion [TVR 4.0 with 14CUX]. The tacho' needs input from -Ve side of coil as per norm'. However, the ECU also has a link from the coil to pin39/white black wire :. Q? does the 14CUX ECU ...
