I pressume that you will get the block pressure tested before the liners are pulled out? If the block is cracked then 700 quid does not sound too bad at all. company said they will check test all of this first .before going ahead tbh. never removed a v8 b4 but nowi know thete not too bad (first att...

well guys thank you for all the tips and advise so far..(oh ps i removed the gas .and went for a run after 6mile .suddernly over heated again and air locked really badly so .that was final straw .( engines coming out .) those bellhouseing bolts are a nightmare to get out with little room but managed...

ive a full invoice here for full clyinder head rebuild .ie skimed and pressure tested ill get a hc tester and that should show ...cheers

i missed this ill unplug lpg and go for a drive ..b4 i go for a drive.ps who and why would the lpg cause this issiuse.as i can see 2 heater pipes going to a gas type cooling thing

Ah - my bad. I just assumed since the length was metric so was the thread. But looking more closely at their site it says they can be used on early engines too, so must be the same thread. well guys spent another waste of day finaly re heicoiled the block refitted heads.gaskets.bolts etc .filled sy...

good point .mine have built in washers unc 7/16 ..20nm then 90deg then another 90degree this is very tight torque settings for alloy block threads .so i went ahead with problems after the first torque down at 90degree .(these felt fairly tight) soon as i tryed a further 90 degree in torque sequenice...

Shouldnt a 4.0 be stretch bolts, didnt all 10 bolt engines have them? tbh theres 2 types listerd from dealers m11/1.75 strech bolts and 7/16unc which arnt .acording to dealers. ps went for headgaskets today but they sent steel ones i told them they should be fibre gasks .he showed me too booked one...

your problerly right .but these had no thread lock on them .they had what looked like sofy greese (molly greese like whats used in arp bolts.thing is if the oringal heads were bolted stuidly over tighterned would it have caused this issuise on the clyinder were the bolts were tight .as i have a stra...

cricky .there not overly tight torque figures tbh .i was exspecting around 85lb head bolts as these oringaly crackrd off at 130lb ..ekkk... ill torque them down to figures shown ...great stuff

many thanks for link .( i found a local engineering firm to borrow the kit from and re helicoiled the bottom row of stud holes...fingers crossed .it works....( ill report back soon as i can find head torque sequenice ....
