That's a later P6B engine with the lip type rear main seal, and would have been fitted from about 1973-6 starting roughly at the same time as the change from the BW35 to the BW65 box.

JC I think you mean a BW35 which I think was also used in the SD1 with the v8. Kevin. The BW35 was used behind the V8 in the P5B & P6B but never in the SD1 with any engine, Sd1's had BW65/66 and GM180. The 35box is more than a bit marginal when it come to taking the power of even a standard V8, alt...

Way too late to be of use to the OP I would think, but just for info, you can delay the shift by setting the kickdown to the maximum pressures within the limits set, so it's not so high as to give a bump when engaging gear, and also in an effort to make the 65 more "sporty" when used in the Stag the...

You can use the standard P6B automatic propshaft. All P6B's have the same 3.08:1 diff ratio. You could fit the 2200 diff (3.54:1) for improved accelleration at the expense of outright top speed and some loss of economy. Early SD1 LT77 gearboxes have a 0.82:1 (Or very close from memory) later ones up...
