Wonder what the RV6 racing unit used?
That's a thought! While we're at it with the real rare ones, how about the Iceberg, what did that have? Now that would be a rare one!

Re: what waterpump is this

I haven't checked but it's not a Land Rover series V8 or Range Rover pump is it? They have a different footprint. The gaskets are totally different. Interesting what you say about the "76" being the year, I'll try to remember that. As we've eliminated Land/Range Rover, P5B/P6B, which IIRC is the sa...

Yes but it is closest I could see.
Probably the closest I've seen as well. When we do find out what it is everybody is going to want one.

Is it a TR8 original type

Ian
That one looks like it has a 3 stud/bolt fan/pulley fitting according to the link photo, the OP's mystery one has 4.

I did suggest a P76, I wonder if what looks like a "76" in that round casting could be taken as an indication that it is?

Re: what waterpump is this

I think the blue one is a Rover P6 pump, As the OP stated, the silver one on the left is the P5B/P6B pump, I could only guess at the other one being BL of some kind as it looks to have the BL roundel on it, but I certainly don't recognise it. Maybe it's been modified previously as they can be made ...

I know people that have done that and not had any problems. It won't give the ultimate in performance but if you're not looking for that it will be fine. Just use an HIF manifold and carbs.

Re: P6 crank vs SD1 crank

P6B lipseal cranks are directly interchangeable with SD1 cranks. The P6B ropeseal cranks are the same dimensions but the seal land is different. My guess is that the lower crank in your pic has had an insert made up to suit your individual application..

Search through the web makes me think my flex plate is P6.
P5B, P6B or SD1 to fit BW35/65/66 transmission.

Flywheel still unkown.
The way the clutch bolts are right out to the edge I'd guess at Land/range Rover.

Re: RV8 - Cam shaft dialling in.

I'm curious how 'they' can grind something as precise as a cam - but then put the keyway in the wrong place? This reminds me of an MGB I did years back, it had a misfire, I can't remember now whether it was on 3 at idle and then went onto 4 when it was revved, or the other way around, but after che...

It's always worked for me. It disappears away to nothing in the oil, that's why it's used in assembling autoboxes as well.

I'm pretty sure he had something listed pretty recently, either way it's worth getting in touch, he can only say no if he hasn't got one/doesn't get involved any more.

There's a bloke called Hugh that dismantles SD1s and sells as Room05 on ebay. Try getting in touch with him. He's very easy to deal with, and you'll get the part that you ask for.
