Hi
the Grand Cherokee on a diesel does 17.7 seconds, at 93mph on the quarter mile, very repeatable. The hemi version does about 15.5 seconds and 105 mph and the SRT does 13.4 and 115 ish. My 2.5 litre petrol rover 75 did 17.4 so the diesel jeep is no slouch.
best regards

Hi the easiest way is to dowel the heads to the manifold so they will always return to the same place then look to see which is the largest, manifold or head. Take a piece of cornflakes packet and make a blank gasket, ie cut out the stud holes and dowel holes but leave the port hole blank. Put the b...

Hi I have a 27 foot box body trailer on three axels, it is hitch plated for 3.5 tons and realistically with the dragster and all the kit for a weekend it is about there. I tow it with a jeep grand Cherokee with a 5 cylinder merc diesel in it. I probably get 12 to the gallon whilst towing, maybe a li...

Hi I do not like the lifters that collapse below 300 revs to reduce lift and duration they are noisy when not pumped up, this is invariable when cruising. They are intended to tame far more radical cams than the blower cam and all they will really do is reduce flow in the heads at low RPM. they are ...

Hi you are looking at the usual limitations of the rover here, very poor heads. these always limit your options when tuning and tend to drive you towards more cam timing and overlap and revving the engine to extract a few more HP. I think your best bet would be a 4.2 crank for the 3.9 block, forget ...

H I would give it a go if they are prepared to give you a good chunk of discount. It looks like they have thought about some of the MSQ issues, the epoxy encasing should toughen it up a bit and the driver protection should deal with the MSQ habit of burning out the injection drivers when you are set...

Hi
MSD do controllers to drive LS coils, you would need to sort out a trigger.

Hi 5 litres, 26 cc heads, 7cc for the gasket, 0 deck and 5cc for valve cut outs you get 17.5:1 Cr, this may be a tad high. If you want a 9:1 cr with 5 litres and 26cc heads you will need a dished piston, one with a dish of about 40cc, this may give issues with piston cooling as having more than half...

Hi MarK
no from what I remember it was a nearly stock SBF! I know the engine sound was dubbed onto the video. I saw the car arrive slung under a helicopter at Donnington park when they toured when Eliminator was out.

I want this sound 8) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae829mFAGGE From a small block Ford if that's possible ! Hi Mark that may be tricky on a SBF as the sound used on that track comes from a blown hemi on methanol and open pipes, you could change around the firing order, sort out the exhaust and me...

Hi
not sure why but the cam is not in the right place the lifter should be more central on the cam lobe is it the right cam blank for the 4.6? is the cam retainer correctly installed? as I say not sure why but the lifter is too close to the adjacent lobe.

hi the biggest influence on the sound you are after is when the exhaust valve is opened, open it earlier and you get a sharper sound, open it later you get a softer sound. you get the "lumpy" tick over from a narrower lobe separation angle for a given cam duration giving more overlap (time when inle...

Hi with 14psi you will need as much cylinder liner thickness as you can get, most of the 5 litre engines I have heard of use a 96mm bore, that will not be a good thing with that much boost. Also how will you get the extra stroke, chevy 2 inch journal rods and offset grind a rover cast crank? You wil...

Have you considered a trans brake? probably see 0.4 of a second off your 60 foot time with one.
