3.5/3.9 Lucas Throttle Position Sensor

Chaps, I recently changed my spangly 4.6 Plenum (on my 3.5 powered Rover P6) for a 3.9 unit as it is slightly lower at the front and doesn't rub the underside of the bonnet. However, the Throttle position sensor is dead and looking around the usual LR/Rover suppliers the price of a new one is anywhe...

Isn't that site run by "HybridfromHell" on lr4x4.com? Might be worth PM'ing him and seeing what he says.. As for doing away with the Thor pump all you really need is a remote FPR mounted at the back of the car with the return going straight back to the tank and just the feed to the rail going forwar...

One thing that may compensate for vapour lock issues on the Thor setup is that I believe the injectors are fed at a higher pressure, more like 50psi compared to the 37.5 for the previous injections incarnations.

Not sure - the Thor rail is fed in middle at the rear and so the two banks are separate in a "Y" configuration. I guess you could just blank off the hotwire return but not sure what the effect would be on the injector at the end of the rail (number 7) as it would be getting the hottest fuel at the l...

Hey Ian, I haven't done any long distance running yet, or any in hot weather so we'll see what happens. My next plan if it does become a problem was to fit a Thor style rail (no return) and "dead head" the line going forward. The FPR would be moved to the back of the car instead near the pump. If yo...

Update to this, went to flow test my low pressure pump and found that I had somehow got some of the connections to swirl pot arse about face. The main problem was that I had the feed connected to the top, where the return to the main tank should be! This has been sorted and the pump has gone...

Coops, This forum has been invaluable to me (and therefore my family) who run 4 RV8 powered vehicles between us. The support and generosity of everyone here has been far above any that I have come across anywhere else. 8-) Threads put up by people like yourself, Perry etc are an inspiration - I love...

External EFI Pump noise - warm fuel?

Hi guys, I have fitted MS2 to my Rover 3500s, and got the car running properly last week. Things have been going brilliantly until a couple of days ago when I noticed the fuel pump getting noisy... It had up until then been quiet enough to be totally undetectable with the car running. This only seem...

I wouldn't use Hammerite - its fine on railings and suchlike but chips too easily for automotive use.

I use Tractol and that seems pretty hardwearing, can be brushed or sprayed. Think I got it from Smith & Allan last time.

Do you still get sensible readings from all the sensors? If the air or coolant temp sensors are reading cold you'd get rich running, and also if your MAP reading is high you'd get the same effect.

OK pics are pretty bad, but it looks like it goes up and over the top of the bellhousing, before jumping to the top of the chassis rail on the passenger side, then running along and entering the battery box from the rear... Up and over bellhousing its in the black convoluted tubing: http://i166.phot...

I will be dropping in over at my parents in the next day or two - I will snap a few pics of the 110 for you (unless someone here beats me to it).

Factory or not?

I have a 3.5 powered 90 (used to be a 2.25 4 cylinder).

My Dad has a Factory 3.5 110.

However - if I want to get really anal neither are actually Defenders, both are too old.
