Honest, no idea we have low or high compression. I thought always high compression. Will measure asap.

I found about the same numbers on internet but then an other site says fitting 4.0 Ltr will raise compression from 9,25 to 9,75 / 1 in a 4,6 Ltr. These numbers can't match for the same pistons. I've also made a calculation with 9 cc difference and received 10,5/1 CR. Started from 9,25/1 as original ...

compression ratio using 4 ltr pistons i 4,6 ltr

Anyone who has the exact numbers about how much the compression ratio will raise by fitting 4.0 Ltr pistons into a 4,6 Ltr block?

Anyone who know the capacity of the dome in a 4.0 Ltr and 4,6 ltr piston ?

I'm not common with these V8 engines.

OK, thanks, So if you are lucky you probably receive a block with more material left and will seat a lot better already? If I look at the bottom of the block where the 2 liners came loose, there is almost zero material supporting the liner. Sad they have never put a little bit more alloy in these bl...

Liner question

Hi to all, I've opened 2x Rover V8 4,6 ltr block in 2 days. First one was not such a good engine, bearings worn out, Pistons sign of running hot (same for the bearing but none sized yet). 1 camshaft bearing almost full out of the bore (no wear on the camshaft or camshaft journal). And worse of all, ...

Full power will only be in 4th gear (direct drive in the box). Second and third gear will only be used for light load measuring.

Landrover without autobox is also very rare here and when you take of the transfer box you still don't have the drive flange for the propshaft. Possible this can be fixed with 2WD gearbox parts but again, there is nothing to find over here.

Totally impossible to find here. And I believe, even difficult in UK.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Lead and Plasticine !!! Does not sound strong to me. I hope just strong enough to handle the power on my dyno. Normally water brake dyno's like mine are gently to gearboxes. Hope it will work. It was the only gearbox I could find at a normal price.

4 speed SD1/P5 V8 gearbox ratio's.

To avoid going off topic in my other question I've opened this new topic. For easy setting up engines on my dyno I always try to use a gearbox in between the dyno and the engine. Easier to fit and engine. (auto boxes are very difficult in use on the dyno) Plus, I use direct drive in the box for all ...

Sounds like good news to me. Thanks. As long as all of these 20 different bell housings share the same bolt pattern and the length of all input shaft are the same, I can start buying and building. Input shaft all share the same part n° (this way we can be sure they are all the same). We are talking ...

Thanks Chris,

We are talking about "any" Jaguar box 4HP22 and 4HP24 or just the one in previous replay (2,8 ltr) ?

Yes, Microsquirt can be used. But there are several ready to fit systems in case I can indeed not get around it. Good news, I can use this Jag box, bell housing Rover V8 will fit direct? Can I use the big 4,6 ltr torque convertor? Only this Jag box is right, I have to avoid others? Yes I know, manua...

Correct, 6 and even 7 gears but these kind of boxes don't have separate bell housing and need very complex ECU's to get them running as a stand alone. The ZF5HP24 I was told to be just possible to do DIY. But in this case it's totally no plug and play. I don't think I want to go this far at the star...
