spoke too soon, Once the engine is cranking it just keeps cranking still.
Its the same whether i use the key or the starter switch i have.
Also the fuel pump isn't priming.

So something isnt wired right. I need to label everything up for the next time!

There are two spade connectors on some starters - have you got the cranking signal on the correct one? (the other one is a left over if you need a ballast resistor I think) Chris. Cheers Chris wouldnt have thought to look at the starter just yet. The wiring was correct but the small unused spade wa...

I took the week off work which is a big deal if you are an hourly paid contractor. Glad i did as i needed the time to get this far. Timing the Crower 50304 cam in took more time than i anticipated, ended up a tooth off and using the 6 degree retard keyway in the JP timing gear to get to a 2 degree a...

Mains to 20lb only then nip up the cross bolts. Wind up the mains and 1 side of cross bolts in steps. Then do other side of cross bolts last. I was recommended only 55lb on the mains which is a lot less than I read on another post here.

If i said the start of the build went without issue i would not be telling the whole truth. Fitting the spring clips took a while to get the technique for the first couple but once sussed the rest went in fine. Dropping the stroked crank into the block had me worried as it locked up as i tightened t...

Alternative solid lifters

V8 tuner supplied my Crower solid cam and lifters but the lifters all have rust on the bases.

He has agreed to take them back but says all his stock is the same and it will take weeks to get others from Crower.

Can i use another make of solid lifter?

On recommendation from a TVR racing associate, i payed ACR near Chester a visit on Thursday. After a reassuring chat with Roland I left my block and crank with him. I am hoping it will be ready to be picked up on Friday with a new liner, rebored to 96mm, the crank stroked to 86.3mm and fitted with c...

The delivery wasnt possible to Chesmans last week so i am heading there tomorrow night. I have the block, crank, pulley, flywheel and my old rods and pistons with me. I will let Chesmans fit the new liner as a starter. Since i had a little end go and damage a piston I have lost confidence with these...

Hi would you not be quicker with higher overall gearing to get rid of that upshift just before the finish line? It might also get away from the upshift right after launch. Could you launch in second maybe and pick a bit there? It just seems you have the clutch peddle on the floor for a large part o...

In car 10.61 in NSCC final

You can see Ian Walley in my rear view mirror as he reels me in at the top end. Very close race, i took the win by just 0.028 of a second.

Bad bore damage, rebuild time again

I had an excellent weekend racing at York taking a win in NSCC and running a new PB of 10.6 but i was getting a lot of oil smoke on the overun and especially when braking. So ive stripped the engine down to discover number 4 had a loose little end and the pin had slipped and badly scored the top hat...

New PB and a TVR record.

Had a brilliant day at York Dragway today. Great company, great racing. I won in NSCC and the final race was epic. Up against the awesome Cortina of Ian Walley in the final i threw caution to the wind and gave it everything i had. The result speaks for itself. http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd11...
