If a proper bung cannot be purchased try this.

I cut some ally gauze as used with fibre glass and held it in place with 4 x 6mm threads I had tapped in the bell - also used penny washers & stainless bolts.
Been in place for ages still Ok.

While on the subject of spammers this may produce a smile. As you probably know `talktalk` took a hit last year when their servers were robbed. Last week I started getting `phone calls from talktalk ... well so they said. I was asked to switch my PC on and go on the web so they could fix a problem t...

Thank you both for your comments ..... seems I would be making a mistake if I had bought Kenlowe fans anyway.
Had a look at that web site they look the `Dogs`. If they can be fitted to an SD1 then they could be made to fit my Granada.

KENLOWE FANS

Had an answer to my e-mail today - after a wait of over 10 days - from Kenlowe fans. It was stated that Kenlowe will no longer be offering advice about their fans. It seems the directors have decided that in 2016 they would concentrate on the `Volume original equipment to industry`. What that tells ...

Hi Tom, Thanks for your comments. I see where your at with the 12mm top header tank hose - yes there is circulation here. I will have a go at slowing it down. The bypass system is the common Edelbrock performer manifold setup.. Here I am using a P6 type water pump (space is tight ) a hose of 15mm ID...

Stevie - I entirely agree. To me 135 C is in the realms of cuckoo land. That damn gauge has to be reading wrong when over 100 C. It was checked in boiling water and it read 100 C exactly what I would hope for and got. However that doesn`t mean the gauge is good over 100 C. and I am prepared to accep...

Stevie, The rad shroiud is tight against the rad - all air passing through the rad exits via the engine end of the shroud - not the sides. I have an electronic temp gauge that measures in Centigrade only. This gauge can easily be checked using boiling water and its crack on. I have seen it giving a ...

Stevie, Know where you`re at with regards slam panel - the rad is right up against it, where I have made the cut to allow the rad to sit up straight I have secured angled ally to the sharp edge thus protecting the rad. Ian, the rad is as above and tight against the slam panel. the fan shroud tight a...

Hi Ian, Thank you for your last. I do have an issue with my cooling system, it never seems to have enough coolant as stated in the manuals. It has always had a rad from a rover V8 engine, at the moment it has a R/Rover V8 auto rad fitted but as always there never seems to be enough coolant. This rad...

Thank you gentlemen for your replies - a very helpful site this as always. I have the space to fit a 16 inch curved blade fan. I have taken the advice of NOT attaching it through the rad fins and it will be sucking at a rate of 2000 CFM. when at full tilt. Fan noise would not be a problem - I doubt ...

Advice please

I have here a RV8 3.9 in a Ford Granada Mk2 (1984 ) The cooling system uses a P6 coolant pump, a R/R V8 rad and an Sd1 shroud. Surprisingly they fit together well, a Performer 180 manifold is also used, this is plumbed with the o/put going through the heater and returned to the pump as per P6 system...

If that were my problem I would remove the pump and throw it over the nearest hedge, dump the engine oil and the filter and start again with a new pump, filter & oil.
However I would also be looking very close at the old engine oil and hope the filter had done its job.
