Rover Remote

Eventually decided to sort out problems with the remote on the back of the LT77 gearbox and find I need some spare parts, including the mounting rubbers and more critically a new ball cup cover. Is there anywhere/anyone that has spares?

Plugs leads

I inadvertently touched a plug lead whilst engine running and got a belt. I then on purpose touched each lead and got a belt  from 6 of the 8. They are all dry and clean, so was this an easy test to see if they need replacing?

Great Mike, that's exactly the guidance I need and a good excuse to get out on the road. Fortunately the device/software has a graphical vacuum gauge incorporated and changing settings can be done on the fly - so will hook up the Notepad and book my son in a co-driver/mapper.!

Many thanks

Is there a basic guide to how much advance for a given amount of vacuum?
The controllable range on this unit is 0"Hg - 14"Hg in 2Hg steps so where would I start?

Vaccum Advance Control

Just treated myself to the Aldon Amethyst Mappable Ignition Box for a Rover 3.9 http://www.aldonauto.co.uk/shop/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=248&P_ID=800 and very nice it is too. Very easy to install, apart from re-fitting the distributor 180 degrees out and then seeing 2 foot flames coming out th...

Nodiz Magic Box

Hi Matt,
impressed with how quickly you have the 8 cylinder version up and running!
I am just down the road from you in Seend, so more than willing to be guinea pig.

Engine Origin

Recently acquired a car with a nice big history file. There is an invoice for a 3.9L Stage 1 engine from Discovery Engineering, Progress Ind. Estate Maidstone. They appear to have vanished off the face of the earth now,
but does anyone out there know anything about them or their engines?

Hi, I have a 4.2l Rover and fitted the Crower Comp-U Pro Cam 50230 Rover V8 from V8 Tuner a couple of years ago and found that it pulls like a train right up 5500rpm, and I can still pull away in forth gear from stationary. Apart from a Weber 500 and and correct valve springs, engine is pretty well ...

Looks like Castle Combe - must have missed that day. The Rover powered stuff sounded better than the 5.0l Ford powered Datsun - Nice!

With reference to Stevieturbo's earlier mention of the Nodiz system, and only being 5 miles from them I contacted them and received the following reply. " We haven't yet created a bespoke 8 cylinder controller, however, we have carried out testing using 2x NODIZ units with them each running a crank ...

I alway thought it was a no-no to change rods around as each rod bedded itself into its mating rocker.
