Excellent, it's like the shiny one and has the timing chain wheel and dizzy drive gear attached. Think I just might get it.

3.5 which camshaft?

Stripping the engine down, as you do, and found the cam starting to show signs of wear. I understand that the 3.9 cam does fit no problem. I have the chance of a good cam from a serpantine engine and have been told it will fit but I'm not sure. It looks similar. Anyone know for sure if it does/does ...

Fantastic, now totally deaf as it fired once carbs filled up. Cough and spluttered for a bit to blow cobwebs out then settled down. Now to strip down and rebuild. Been collecting bits for years, now it's time to fit them.

Will try and find that book. I have fitted full looms before but they usually come with a wall chart, labels etc as I've built loads of 7's in the past. So, what wires do I need for the coil? +ve to ignition, does the -ve need wiring or is that just for the rev counter?

Thanks, car electrics are black magic to me, that's why I use carbs. Where do the wires from the coil go to? I presume +ve goes to live feed via ignition does the -ve go to earth or battery and does it make a difference or does the coil only have a live feed?

If it's points, then it's pretty easy. Bat +ve to starter big terminal on the back. Bat -ve to the engine block. Bat +ve to coil +ve Coil -ve to points Then connect the small spade terminal on the starter to bat +ve and it'll spin over and you'll be away. Remove bat +ve from coil +ve to switch off....

Thanks for the info, but it didn't really answer the question. I already have the 2 boxes and want to know if the bits can transfered from one to the other to make 1 good box that I can use. Nearest scrappy is miles away and I can't spend time away from the house as wife has MS and chair bound.

4wd to rwd??

Okay, here goes. I have an LT77 rover box but no bellhousing and as I'm poor due to not being able to work I can't afford to buy one, here's the question..........can a range rover manual gearbox be converted to rwd using parts from both boxes, both being LT77? I have chance of one with a buggered t...
