So either an adaptor plate or a custom bell housing would be needed.
Hence using the BW35 one.

Re: Difference

Wonder how easy that is? I did consider taking a chunk out of the Land Rover bell housing, and welding it up. But then decide if it wasn't going to be simple to do, be better to fit a 5 speed auto instead. Since after market ECUs are now available. But then just gave up. :D AFAIK it needs a plate m...

Re: Difference

I looked at fitting A ZF 4HP auto to my SD1. Sadly, due to being made to fit the 4WD installation, the bell housing is deeper than needed and fouls the bulkhead. As does the 2WD Sherpa version. Presumably plenty room in a Sherpa, so just used the existing parts. If you were really keen to do the ZF...

Re: Cylinder bores and crank journals :- rust removal ?

I'd buy a honing tool to do the bores, and wet and dry on the crank journals. Rolls Royce used to leave their new engine blocks outside until they got a coating of rust on the bores and then hone them before use. They used to say that the small pits caused by the rust in the bore helped retain tiny ...

Re: Good source for brake bits:P6 3500 mongrel from 2000TC

I think the 3-piston front calipers were not original to a TC: any suggested vendors or courses of action? They are most likely calipers from the V8 P6, which IIRC are the same as E-Type jag, but readily available from the Rover specialist suppliers. Rear calipers are the same across all models apa...

The LH carb (passenger side RHD) feeds 1467, the RH 2358.

Re: SU HiF6 weird problem on a 3.5 Rover.

My guess is those emission valves on the butterflies opening when they shouldn't. Had that on a P6 3500S which resulted in a too fast idle. A very common problem on the SU SD1 as well. The way to prove it's them at fault is wait till the engine is running at the high idle speed, then turn the engin...

Pretty sure it's 7/16" UNF
It's not UNF, because I used an SD1 slave cylinder on a P6B 3500S LT77 conversion and I had to fit the SD1 fitting on to the end of the clutch hose.
I'd say it's a fine Metric.

If my Gems is slightly modified it may kill the HP22 unless I get it uprated like Ashcroft can offer. Head over and take a look here... http://www.classicroverforum.net/index.php?forums/gearboxes-and-drivetrain.101/ there are some smart blokes on there, particularly "eightofthem". It is from a Rover 3500S V8 P6.

Chris.
Do you mean the NADA 3500S?

If so, it isn't.

NADA waterpump:

And if you mean the 3500S manual P6 then that's the same as the auto.

Re: what waterpump is this

Any one experiance with this shop before I ship it to the UK?? My mate had a waterpump leaking on an oddball engined 1950s Ford van for which he couldn't get a pump anywhere, so he sent the pump off to that company and it was done and back to him in just over a week, and it cost him somewhere aroun...

Was sort of thinking the RV6 would need to be compact. With many other installations, space isn't a problem.
Fair comment.
