Its the driveshafts that have been my limiting factor having snapped a couple. I have all the grip i need from the MT streets if i do a good smokey burnout. But give it too much gas in 1st and POP.... kerdunk! I have a pair being made as we speak by Dave Mac. My best 60 foot was 1.70 and i know now ...

It took me a while of 'development' to get to a total of 170. I usually run a 100 shot at WOT and have a complete seperate system for the added 70 on a push button. Depends on how close the opponent in the other lane is or if i am just hungry for PBs. Heres a clip at Surrey rolling road with the bot...

Thanks for all the tech answers guys. I am soaking it up best i can. I havent aimed at creating a 11:1 CR engine it just looks like its heading that way with the required work ive had recently. My block was fitted with top hat liners about 18 months ago and i believe very little was taken off the de...

I will get better measurements and dry build to determine where i am regarding piston to valve clearance. Now the cam issue is in the mix it could be a significant problem to add significant inlet lift and duration. My shallow 4.0 pistons are without cutouts. The heads are skimmed although the recut...

The heads are on the way back from Dave Knights with matched 28.5cc chambers. So thats 28.5 + 13 (piston bowl) + 7.05 (40 thou gasket) Still to measure deck height but think it will be about 1mm below. That adds up to 55.6cc + 569.062 (ie 82 stroke x 94 bore) = 624.662 divided by 55.6 = 11.235:1 CR....

mine makes 72 and i can easily get 30 mpg.

Multi plenums are quite popular in the TVR community. The new carbon twin and tripple plenums seem to give dividends on the 350bhp+ motors

Cheers guys.
Last time i used no lube at all and nipped the studs in a touch with an allen key and torqued to 85lb. Oops. maybe why i blew the head gaskets.

ARP heads studs and MLS gaskets

Whats the recommended procedure? Which if any thread sealant do i use and what torques settings? The block is still looking very smooth and fresh since the top hats were fitted despite a couple of blown elring gaskets and the heads being off a couple times. The heads are away to be refurbished prope...

Which plug leads for me?

I am ready to order a new set of leads. I will need to make them to length myself due to my set up.

Its a 4.6 running megasuirt2 with Ford Gen 2 coil packs.

I need quality leads that will ensure i get the best spark i can when running nitrous.

Recommendations please.

For cam advice i would recommend a chat with Rob Robertson. Give the full spec and requirements and he will choose or spec you a custom grind.
Lots of modified TVR owners happy with his work.
Top guy.

Ive heard a LOT of stuff regarding anything TVR related and thats a new one to me.

Anyhoo, decision made. Heads are boxed up ready to be delivered to Dave Knight engines for a full refurb and maybe a little extra. Looking forward to a few more ponies already. 340+ from my 4.6 would be nice.

I dont want to lap these valves any more. I think i will get the seats cut and hopefully the inlets will last another few years.
I had a look at the exhaust valves and think they have seen their days. The seat on them is concave from too much lapping in the past.

So ive been using the new Gunson eezi lap. How long do we reckon this takes? Ive got a neat even surface on the valve itself. Put the inlets back and filled the ports with water. Number 6 pissed out, 4 and 8 a constant drip and number 2 showed a couple of drops but didnt leak any. http://i221.photob...

I agree that in a FI application the charger will do the work and overcome most usual NA restrictions. NA tuning is also important to me. Its a known fact that the old 38mm inlet and trumpets strangle the higher capacity and tuned RV8s. Its common practice in the TVR community to upgrade to 45mm. Mo...
