Now i have a spare 4.4, I'm going to take the pump out of that, spin it up on the lathe and see what pressure it makes, then do the same on the hdi pump, hopeing its somewhere close.....as I'm useing the escort on the track, I'm looking for power rather than top end can never have too many spae v8's...

Does it lube the chain or does it work the chain tensioner? Ive got a pump mounted now, ill make the end for the sprocket tomorrow, then I'm ready to plumb it

Awesome, so in effect i can just feed this from the same feed I'm useing for the main system......i got bored waiting for idiots to get back to me with my pump, so I've gone with a peugeot 405 hdi pump in the end.....i just made a sandwich plate between the sump and the block to mount it all :)

Yeah bit of investigation found my username:)

Yup its in the sump.....unfortunatly its only going to be someone who knows a bm engine who's gonna be able to answer this, so pics ain't really gonna help.....though ill post pics up off my £15 rear sump m60 set up when I'm done

I'd use both, can never be to clean. as to N62 pump, well that one is still on eGay for £200 + change, I wish i knew about it before i started on the x5 4.4 pump. £50 for the pump, £40 for the shaft, £70 for the ally welding, £30 in ,,,, um,,,,failed durafix, I'm only a tenner away from a bolt on pu...

getting it back clean was easy, you just heat it back up to 700 odd degrees and brush it off with a stainless wire brush... so what your saying is though, the ally between the 2 bits has to be exactly the same composition, and so does the tig rod? Dang, thats going to be a hard order to fill, I thou...

I know, and as much as I hate to admit defeat, today, I took my soldered item off the engine, then made a frame to use as a template, then cleaned it back up to standard, ready to find someone who can tig on monday.

that Durafix loves ally but doesnt adhear to copper worth a damn.

thats some pressure.....1 bar = 14.5037738 pounds per square inch, thats 87psi, the copper tube can take 170psi easily, Happy days :)

and my first attempt with this durafix stuff went.....um......well it went :)
