hi i have a disco 1 3.9 efi auto with ac i am thinking of diching the viscous fan as i think its on its last legs and fitting a pair of 12 inch electric fans do you think its a wise move its getting hot climbing big hills towing a big load (just under 3000kg) obviously at slow speeds having the auto...

which irontite do you guys use the stuff that you put in with just water and have to drain it out and let it set or the stuff you put in your cooling system as it is with the antifreeze?

sorry to hijack but i am having exactly the same issues 98 disco 1 3.9 efi auto

what it irontite is it somthing that locates small leaks and blocks them?

6 sets of bearings and still no joy

hopefully real steel will pull it out of the bag on tuesday im feeling confident as he knew about this problem has seen it before

they think they should have the correct ones tomorrow

the origanal ones i got were to engine number and were nothing like right didnt even have thrusts at all

guy at 4+ said it was quite common that parts ordered to engine number didnt fit they were genuine Landrover ones too lol

how many different types of main bearings do they do for the rover v8? the first set i got hadnt got any thrust bearings on the the centre bearing and the second set i have got had thrust bearings on the centre but top and bottom my engine just has the 1 half (block side) that has thrusts on and the...

have got the mains from landrover and they are wrong so thats a good start they were 160 too so im quite pleased hopfully it will want the cheap ones lol

im rebuilding my engine in my 98 discovery 3.9 efi

the gaskets that were on are composite gaskets the new ones in my gasket kit are metal ones is it ok to use these it says landrover 3.9/4.2 efi on them

which are the best?

just been looking about if it get the 86mm stroke crank from v8 tuner does that let me use the standard 3.9 rods and standard type pistons to give me 4.8?

or am i missunderstanding the wording?
