anyone put a V8 in to an Elise/MGF
im building a V8 kit, all rover bits mostly, tranvercly mounted in the back, which is why i am askign about elises/MGF's as they are the only cars i can think of which are like it std. i will be using a PG1 gearbox, and therefore utalise mgf gearlinkage, drive shafts etc. im pretty sure the gearbox ...

would a V8 mind being layed down a bit? current K series sits at 15 degree's or something, would a V8 be ok with this?
i may have to revise the oil level, but can anyone see any other problems?

well apparently PG1's come with a 1.4KW as standard so i dont need to worry, i thinkt he flywheel might be tad smaller but im sure it wont make much difference. would act as a lightened flywheel to, added bonus! cheers for the help! just have to sus how to adapt the V8 crank on to the PG1 flywheel n...

Well the Montego Diesel starter which was fitted to the PG1 box is 1.5kW I believe. I will try to remember to measure a flywheel later. because the rover V8 ones dont fit in to a PG1 bellhousing. rover ks eries ones do. im goign to make an adaptor plate to fit the V8 to the PG1, and make another adaptor to fit the K series flywheel to the V8 crank, so that i can use the k series clutch setup (from a freelander) which will fit the in...

how many watt are V8 starter motors? if they vary then take a 3.9 range rover one for instance?

T series as fitted tot he turbo has a good clutch, but i dont think it has any adaptor plates. however i am thinkign it might be possable to use the T series bell housing and make a flat plate which bolts on to it and then would have a ring of holes to bolt ot eh v8 as well. yes the PG1 was made by ...

nothing to do with tomcats what so ever. its a rear engine V8 metro im tryign to make. so similar to your mini.
