Yeah i've been through the elimination process and as i say reckon the condensors failed. Was just wondering if there is any reason they keep failing (other than them being cheapo ones).

I shall buy a genuine part version but i'd rather not kill that aswell

Is a little rev a good thing?

I've always been told that its a good idea to give my V8 a little throttle blip before i turn it off. Something about helping to clean off the plugs. Obviously I don't have a turbo or anything, its a fairly standard rover 3.5 on carbs.

Is this actually true?

Balance gauge

Hello all Having just rebuilt the carbs for my range rover the next step is to tune it up. I have two HIF6 (originally from a p6 i expect) on a rover 3.5 which supposedly has been bored out and has high compression pistons (though i don't have evidence). The exhuast has a standard mid box but no bac...

Freezing SU carbs

I have a rrc with a 3.5 running on two SU HIF carbs. The guy i bought it from rebuilt it/set it up and it was running very well. Now having lots of problems. Big loss of power and backfirering when throttles let off. Particularly bad when driving back home after offroad events. Will gradually lose m...
