saw this a while ago and yeah, whilst it does go against the grain a bit, it is very cool. I like the fact that he's not some eco tree hugger hell bent on killing cars/petrol/fun. He's just a talented guy putting his money where his mouth is and showing the world another way if they care to see it. ...

I fell in love with Stratos' as a child and then saw the Hawk stand at the stoneleigh kit car show some years back so I like to think I'll build a HF2400 with the Ferrari 308 V8 in it at some point, but if I had the money I'd take an original every time 'cos it's, well, original! :)

ZDDP, I'd never heard of that. One quick google later and some very interesting stuff! I don't know why but it has never occurred to me that oils would have changed so much in such recent times. I mean from the 50's to now sure, but the 90's?! thanks for the tip :D , the machinist also advis...

Thanks Mike, reassuring and sensible words, particularly keeping an eye out for filings, might invest in a magnetic sump plugs just in case! I'm putting it all back together today (assuming my toes and fingers don't die and fall off, it's pretty nippy out!! ) If folks are interested I'll updat...

They claim to never h...

Head re-assembly

Good evening one and all, this question kind of follows on from a recent thread of mine about overheating problems. After much testing and replacing bits it was concluded that the head gasket on my 2litre mk1 cav (sorry, still not a V8 ) had indeed blown and would need sorting. So I bit the bullet a...
