Thanks for your help, I personally have very little knowledge comes to engines. The person I have bought the defender 90 from is the mechanic that will be fitting the engine and he has offered me either one, I'm also having an automatic gearbox fitted which he has.

I have just bought a defender 90 and have the option of a 3.5L engine or a 3.9L engine, which one would be the better option.
If you chose the 3.9L option, I then have a chose of 3.9 efi and 3.9 carb?
