HELP - FIRST CRANK - NO OIL PRESSURE
Hi All, it's been a while...My Westfield V8 project has been put on hold for almost 3 yrs, but some unexpected extra time at home of recent has meant that I've been able to get it 'almost' finished. So, today I tried cranking the engine (no fuel) for the first time, really more to check the starter ...

Just as a comment on your layout, the belt tensioner is on the wrong side of the engine and will tend to loosen the belt tension under load. This is 100% correct and cannot be put onto the right hand side. See my posts on http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14143&start=75 When you see wh...

Hummmmm......I thought this might be the case, but I did try flipping them around, turning them upside down, and they were clearly not the right ones....Now, I did acquire the gaskets when I purchased the kit car Im working on as part of a big box of spare parts....So it could be they are not actual...

Exhaust manifold gaskets - Differnt sizes?.
Just received my exhaust manifolds and offered them up to the engine...all good.....But I have a set of the metal gaskets which I assumed would fit, but actually they don't line up at all. Am I right in thinking there are two sizes / types of head with the bolt holes in a slightly different place?. ...

Thanks for the ideas, I think I may have a solution now. the timing cover has m12 plugs, BUT...the actual thread in the timing cover appears to be bigger (possibly M14), This means that the 1/4inch NPT thread of the sender actually does fit (although only about 4 thread will go in)...I think this wi...

You can see just see the sender in this pic, it hits the alternator bracket and also , the send is a 1/4npt rather than an m12, so I need to add in an adapter. the sender is very large, but I really need to use it to match to the smiths gauges. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d102/jenkosrugby/2016...

Options for oil pressure sender position.
Im struggling for room in the timing cover. There are two spaces, but the sender is quite large. Any other options on the RV8 for oil pressure sender location.

Fuel rails, injectors a good find
May be of interest to someone, and I'm sure it's been done before. The older manifolds had a tubular wrap around fuel rail and fitted the older lucas injectors. If you fancy upgrading to the later green bosch injectors, they will not fit in the wrap around fuel rail. A fairly simply modification is ...

It is the final position, but...the car is jacked up off the floor, so the suspension has dropped. When the car is flat everything levels up nicely. Track rod ends are pretty much in lie with rack....... Ok, the photo must be deceiving. Just out of interest can your steering arms be swapped from si...

I think the alignment is critical, its going to put all sorts of weird loads on the belt if not spot on. Also, I agree about the 7v belts...much more surface area. Not sure if you have seen the latest other post on this subject (in the engine area), but I sort of used your idea of having a tensioner...

Finally got the belt to fit.....So it's now pretty much completed (the mock up), it now comes apart so I can actually build the engine up. A few pics to show the belt lay out: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d102/jenkosrugby/20161009_184550.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d102/jenkosrugby/20...
