Hi
£120 for all 8? is that finnished or just the resleeve work? sounds very good velue to me. I looked at a firm in Bletchley who quoted £15 a sleeve just for the sleeve then £25 a time to fit and finnish (on a chevy).

Hi a while ago on Ebay I saw a chevy ally block and rebuild kit with Brodix heads etc from a very low rated seller (about 3 transactions all 100% ok), looked to be on for a good price (not "too good to be true" but good price) so I bid, missed it by about £150 after a bit of a last minute bidding ba...

Hi Rich
what is the spec of the engine you are building? what heads/size ports? cam spec? cu inches..... Edlebrocks are nice heads... but they do a wide range :) are you doing a full rebuild? might be able to help if you need standard bits.

Sorry, one thing, £11 k ($20K) for 850 bhp and 650 ftlb torque  that will run for 500 mile race propelling about a ton and a half of welded up scafolding that is a nascar race car and say its not cheep, I beg to differ, you build a rover lump that will produce half that output (normally aspir...

Hi I didn't really expect anyone to take the SB2 sugestion seriously just gave it as an example of costing :), these are 850bhp+ heads fully loaded for less than the price of a pair of wildcat castings for a rover. I was not sugesting a guy build an SB2 engine as a first chevy :? I looked into it an...

Hello Ian My understanding is that with with low impedence injectors you need to limit holding current to about an amp to avoid frying the windings. So you need an over all impedence of about 12 ohms, (assuming you are using a 12v car battery) if your injectors 2 ohms then you need a 10 ohm resistor...

not sure which edelbrocks you are referring to and not sure if that is with valves or not but.... My 235cc inlet port RHS chevy ally heads were about $720 for the pair, with valve guides and seats cut. In iron same heads about $550. (about 310 cu ft/min) A set of replica vortec heads in ally with th...

Hi Gregor on the engine on my first Range rover I had the area immediatly behind the valve seat/ throught opened up by about 2mm in all directions using a cutter centered on the valve guide (ie bored it out!), then blended into the rest of the port and a three angle angle valve seat job done, and al...

Hi Paul I think the reallity is that the experience of the rally escorts shows what a four link system can do if set up right. A three link set up is ok for a range rover but does nor hold the for aft location as well as 4 links and still relys on twisting the axel, and in virtually all set ups brea...

OK Paul, your basic theory is correct in that you can get one end of the axel to rotate against the other(and in theory you are also right for a cct car in roll this would have the same situation as a road car in that it is subject to roll), however if you draw it out and assume 50 inches between mo...

Hi Make sure you have the right band airial for the transmitter you are pointing at (the airial supplyer should be able to tell you this, if they can't or look confused go to another shop). If the one you can "borrow" is for another transmitter it will be no good for the new site. To recieve the dig...

Hi Simon
have you seen this?

I think it demonstrates that anything done well has it's merrits, just not sure I would go down this route myself. Multi small supercharces done well would look good, just not sure it is better as an engineering solution 8)

I am unsure exactly what you intend to do but it sounds like blending and smoothing the area around the valves, a small amount would not do any harm as far as I can see, but do not take out anything that will reduce the extreamly limited squish area on that head, I am unsure that you will actually g...

Anti squat geomitry does not cause binding on a properly set up 4 link, if it did it would not prevent squating, the rotation of the axel and non parrellel innks create a torque at the instant center toward the front of the car causing the rear to lift. Watch a well set up drag car (with suspension,...
