I made a start after work today. Plugs all out and did a compression test. Seven were around 150psi and one at 60psi. So somethings amiss with one cylinder but nothing like as bad as I expected. The plugs however were a different story! They are horribly fouled with coke like deposits from who knows...

Engine failure-any guesses before I start on it.
The 3.5 Rover in my Hawk has died. Starting was becoming a bit "odd" for a while with no obvious cause. Then went to go out one day last year and it was a pig to start and missing when it did. Cleared so set off only to have it start mis-firing then stop. Tried to restart but it was very r...

LT77 again.
As I mentioned in another question my LT77 is in a poor way. I have a spare that came with the car which I intended to rebuild. However, I spoke to the previous owner last night and he informed me that he had rebuilt it but took it out due to a stiff and notchy shift. As far as the bearings go it se...

Cylinder head I.d.
The heads on my engine are 14 bolt. They are on a V8s block which has no holes for the outer 4 bolts. Any easy way of identifying what year they are and what size engine they are off?

Another LT77 query-but different.
The LT77 in my Humber Hawk is not well, it growls badly (is there good growling?) and gear changes are a bit random and notchy. I have a spare box, C suffix and intend to attempt my own rebuild. I've done autos so fancy a go at this for a change. As I understand it the main issues with the LT77 are ...
