Re: Mumford linkage.
Not sure why this is getting so many views! I am going to experiment with lowering the rear roll centre height. It was previously set in the middle of three positions making the RC approx. 185mm above ground level. By lowering to the bottom setting the RC will be approx. 130mm above ground level. It...

Re: Mumford linkage.
Thought I would update. For various reasons I've not used the MG since 2019. While its been off the road I have fitted a dry sump system from John Eales and done further front suspension modifications including dropped spindles and stiffer springs. First time out a few weeks ago and it just makes me...

Re: Engine fails to start after rebuild.
Update. I did a compression test that showed all cylinders low 90-100psi.
Checked the cam timing which was 12 degrees out so inlets were slightly open when firing. Hoping valves are OK.
Cheers mark

Re: Engine fails to start after rebuild.
Recently replaced the battery ( last week) so its not that. It is impossible to get the injector connectors wrong. plugs 5&6 are fed from separate coils. I did move the location of the ignition amp slightly so will double check the wiring but connectors only fit one way. Will pull some of the lo...

Re: Engine fails to start after rebuild.
Thanks guys, OK it is sequential fuelling and wasted spark ignition. 32/1 trigger wheel on crank single tooth on cam. I took engine out to fit new dry sump system. Big ends replaced as were fairly worn. The trigger wheel was removed from crank pulley and re fitted with addition of oil pump pulley. C...

Engine fails to start after rebuild.
Hello Guys, bit of a weird one. 18 months ago I removed my 5.0L RV8 to change the big end bearings and fit a dry sump system. Now its all back together and am having issues with popping back through Throttle bodies 5 & 6 when cranking and being really hard to start. I did eventually just get it ...

Re: MGBGT V8 right hand side exhaust manifold
The original cast manifolds were prone to cracking so you will be very lucky to find one whole. Maybe try Clive Wheatley in Wolverhampton?
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Car just finished mapping at Lloyds specialist developments
Sounds good I hope yours runs better than mine. Yes the Lloyds brothers are nice chaps but they never managed to get mine running without misfire problems. I ended up using 4 different mappers before finding the wiring issue that Lloyds created. yours is a similar spec to mine when it was a 4.0L hav...

Re: Mumford linkage.
Happily the engine is running sweet now after years of grief. The problem would only happen on track and not on rolling road! out of 6 different tuners only one diagnosed the problem to be faulty wiring done by the original installers of the EFI system It has cost a fortune to sort out. Very annoyin...

Re: Mumford linkage.
Been looking through my video clips. This video shows the car with 90bhp less and with leaf spring and Panhard rod which is mounted along the centre line of the axle when at rest. You can clearly see the cars tendency to over steer although very controllable and still quick. Compare this clip with t...

Re: Mumford linkage.
Another vid of the car and suspension working really well. Getting power down early out of corners feels like the rear just digs in and grips.

Re: Mumford linkage.
well, the Silverstone trackday was damp and slippery. Couldn't mount the camera underneath. Here is a clip from the day chasing round after a Porsche GT3 and a couple of high HP 600+ evos. Very pleased with the handling and balance although a few tweaks to perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p...

Re: Mumford linkage.
Finally I got the engine running right. problem was faulty wiring (Crank sensor). Back to suspension. I have a track day booked at Silverstone on 21st Nov. Trying to mount a gopro under the car to see how things are working on track but very difficult to do as fuel tank is directly behind axle. I am...

From my experience, if you managed to tighten non stretch bolts by the stretch bolt method you will have damaged the threads. Definitely check before next time. It is very frustrating when tightening down a cylinder head for the thread to go. leaves a sickening feeling in the stomach as it all has t...

well, I started with some used 45mm jenvey throttle bodies purchased from John Eales with manifolds, thermostat housing and sagem coilpacks. Decided to get a local firm to fit all the hardware with fuel tank mods using a Canems ECU supplied and fitted by them costing £3600 iIt never ran properly wit...
